Jenny - RATING: 3/5
I have not seen this movie since I was young and watching now I realized that truly there is no story to this movie, no plot, no real sense of story except that of the circle of life. I am glad that they made the characters true animals instead of having them more like people; it kept it real. We watched the commentaries with it, which always is fun with Disney because you learn so much of the creation of it as well as touching on other movies at the same time. The Blu-Ray on this is fabulous, the transfer is excellent. If you get a chance, listen to it with commentary.

Jenny - RATING: 5/5
This is one of my top 10 favorite movies, probably my top 5. I have reviewed this movie before but again to say that it is probably the movie the hit most home with me as I was "William Miller" in the late 80's and early 90's with the latin american pop music scene. I wanted to be a music writer and I made friends with the artists like he did. It was a part of my life that I hold dear and can totally relate. It is fabulous movie that never gets old.

I agree with Elisabeth on this one, the acting was spot on. There was humor, drama, and history in this movie and these two actors really brought it to life. I do have to say Estelle Parsons still annoyed me outside of Roseanne (TV Show). I don't have anything bad to say about it except for Ms. Parsons. :p
AFI Top 100 #34 - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)

For our first AFI Top 100, we watched Snow White, which might have been brilliant in its time but really its not Disney's best. There was a lot of movie that was a break through in animated film making and watching the blu-ray with Walt's commentary makes you realize how much truly went into making this film. For me, I thought the movie itself was very slow moving doesn't hold me or capture me but does have an awesome villain.

Honestly, I thought that this would be a movie that would be just okay. I remember it coming out when I worked at Blockbuster Video, but since I was never and Uma Thurman fan I always skipped it. But Elisabeth said it was really good and she bought it on blu-ray, so I might as well give it a shot and I was really impressed with it. Impressive story, good characters, and interesting look into our future.

Finally watched for the first time Less Than Zero, though Elisabeth has seen it. I had tried to read the book and I hated the way the author wrote, but everyone told me the movie was so much better and I now agree it was. I swear if I was straight I would have been all over Robert Downey Jr. He is such a great actor, and so adorably cute. LOL. The music was awesome, the acting was superb. Very nice film... I even cried a little bit when RDJ went to talk to his dad on the tennis court. Excellent.

I think this is one of the best dark comedies of the 90's. The all-star cast, the writing, everything about it is just so funny. Maybe I find it funnier because I grew up in that area of the world in a small town not unlike the one in the movie. I "get" the humor and inside jokes. I really enjoyed the mockumentary aspect and don't think it could have actually worke any other way. Even though I have seen this movie a hundred times over the years, it still makes me laugh in all the same spots it originally did. That is truly the mark of a good movie.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)

RATING: 3.5/5
Yes, Star Trek was pretty... I have to say for a first time watch for me (Jenny) that the movie held up to it being so old. The blu-ray transfer was incredible, like watching a movie made in 2011. Special effects surpass Star Wars IV hands down... my issue was that there was no suspense, nothing for me to grip my chair for... I kept waiting for something magical for me to go: WHOA! so that I could love it. It never came. The whole build up just seemed to fizzle.
Elisabeth told me it was slow and that the next movies are much better. She is a Star Trek fan, so no need for her opinions cos she loves them.

RATING: 4.5/5
Hellboy is one of our favorite series in this house. Don't know if it is Selma Blair, Guillermo Del Toro or just the movies in general. It is one of the best comic book adaptation done. We watched this with my nephew, who was watching for the first time, and his wife, who had only seen this on telemundo. LOL. It also was the first movie watched in our new movie room with new speakers, etc... It was an awesome test movie. Wooo.

Who knew I would have to flip my DVD to watch a movie on DVD, I thought that was a laserdisc issue. LOL. Okay, so we spent last night watching it. I had never seen it but had been told it was creepy, so why not give it a try. While I did not find it creepy, I also did not find it corny. It was a pretty decent movie, long, but decent. There was a lot of down time, but more of a build up and understanding of the characters. Good cast, and Elisabeth, who has read the book, said it is pretty darn close to the book.

This is one movie we disagree on. While Elisabeth really likes this movie and can holler out the lines as they are happening, I can't even remember I have seen the movie until it starts playing. Elisabeth laughs, where I say ugh. We do own this on blu-ray and we watched for the first time since getting the copy. This movie just doesn't seem to be my thing, but remains a favorite of Elisabeth's.
