RATING: 3/5
This movie was far more entertaining than the first five. With a big budget, a believable story, and better acting, Jason 6 was quite enjoyable. I was glad that the nudity and sex scenes were cut way down because I don't think you really need it anymore. Yeah, the 70's and early 80's were a little bit more free on that and made Friday The 13th what it was, but the series grew and I think it was wise to stay semi-free of that. Jason seemed almost zombie like in this chapter and it came full circle with him trapped underwater at Camp Crystal Lake again. Much better...
Friday the 13th: Part 6: Jason Lives (1986)

Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985)

RATING: 2.5/5
My most recent worktime movie was part 5 in the series of Friday The 13th's. Slowy I am finishing them up since I had only seen 1 and 4 previously. This time, Tommy (Corey Feldman from chapter 4) is all grown up and is sent to a half-way house in the woods where you can have knives and sex with the co-eds... wow, all the things Jason hates. One by one, Jason, or so they say the sheriff who is avenging his sons death, picks off each and everyone in the woods until the final showdown where Tommy faces Jason to the death so to speak... And since we all know there is a 6th... Tommy becomes Jason. Bad acting all over the place... I wish that this series would actually have a plot more than just new location, new kids, let's kill them.

Jerry Maguire (1996)

Jenny - RATING: 3/5
Not that I would want to watch this again, but it wasn't all hideous. I definitely do no think Cuba Gooding Jr. should have won the best supporting actor award for this because I didn't see this as that much of a stretch for him as an actor. Tom Cruise still lacked personality, but the story was pretty good which is why it gets bumped to 3 stars... But I probably could have waited another 10 years to see this movie and not have felt like I was missing anything. It's a very over-rated movie.

Nothing to Lose (1997)

RATING: 3/5
Off and on... funny, not funny. This movie kept bouncing up and down on my like, not like radar... so I am gonna say it was not bad. Martin Lawrence is annoying as hell, but certain scenes, especially with his "mama" was hilarious. The funny was extremely funny, while the rest just seemed to be there.

Anastasia (1997)

RATING: 4/5
Honestly, I enjoyed this movie much better than I thought I would. The good characters were good, but the evil characters were so dang evil it was almost scary. The music wasn't overly poppy or catchy but weren't cheesy that you hated it. Very sweet and good story.

Krull (1983)

RATING: 3/5
A mix between sci-fi and fantasy, Krull was really good for its time. The special effects were good and cgi was not bad. The acting I found to be mediocre and the story well... I guess I might not have understood. According to description of the the movie was about "...Krull has arranged the marriage of a Prince and Princes who are to join his alliance." but what I got from it was aliens came down, stole a girl and this guy was hunting the alien down to get the girl back. Beyond that, I didn't follow any other major plot. It was entertaining, I will give it that.

Assassination of A High School President (2008)

RATING: 3.5/5
I must have been as oblivious as the high school reporter as I did not see what was going on just as he didn't and once the crime was solved, I still did not see where it all came together. While the movie was decent, storyline had potential, and characters were good, I just felt like I was let down at the end and thought it was to be more and I was actually waiting for the president to be killed.

Kangaroo Jack (2003)

RATING: 3.5/5
Thinking this movie was going to corny and stupid, I watched it anyways and I was delighted to find that it wasn't all that corny. This was a little adventure in the outback that just happened to have a kangaroo that is at the center of a mafia plot. Yeah, there were moments where the kangaroo was a little too animated but over all it was a great ride and perfect for a day of movie watching at work.

Starman (1984)

RATING: 4/5
This worktime movie of Starman really was an enjoyment. I loved the story, the romance, the characters and how believable they made it. It wasn't the same ol cheesy sci-fi, actually is almost did not seem sci-fi at all. And for 1984, the Starman's spaceship was realistic special effects. I don't really have any complaints on the movie its self.

Death To Smoochy (2002)

RATING: 4/5
This is one of those movies that I kept seeing on Netflix or at the video store and thought that just by the name alone I would never watch. What was I thinking? This is was a very unexpected joy of a movie that I laughed my ass off watching. Normally Robin Williams will annoy me, but in this character he didn't annoy me but I hated him for being such a bad ass. It was nice to see Edward Norton do something that wasn't so serious too. Although this wasn't a movie to win awards, it was a gem that needs to be recognized. I loved it and can definitely see adding this movie to my collection. Good job Smoochy!

Garbage Pail Kids Movie (1987)

So it wasn't that hideous of a movie, very 80s and very moronic. I guess what makes this kids gross is not how they look but more their annoying behavior. Sometimes you can love the "ugly" if the personality of the character is charming and sweet. These kids were nothing of the sort. Beyond the "Kids", the rest of the cast were some of the worst actors, but then again in the 80's anyone and everyone was in a movie weather they could act or not. The plot was weak and apparently was left open for a part two if they wished it.

Romancing The Stone (1984)

I surprising really liked this movie. It had tons of adventure without going overboard and it didn't take themselves to seriously. The chemistry with the characters was right on. Overall it was a treat to watch over two days on my lunch breaks at work. This is the first of my "worktime flicks" for 2011. Gonna watch Jewel of the Nile tomorrow on laserdisc.
